The TARA Project consortium are developing a novel platform that will disrupt the migraine treatment continuum of care for resource-constrained settings

Led by CAPRI-Medical, TARA Project Technical Lead, the LUNA-PLATFORM has four proprietary components including LUNA-AIR, LUNA-INJECT, TARA-CONTROL and LUNA-APP.

1. LUNA-AIR: An implantable therapeutic, active medical device with integrated sensors to treat neurological indications including migraine.

2. LUNA-INJECT is a minimally invasive, injectable delivery system, designed specifically to enable non-surgical physician delivery.

3. LUNA-APP is a controller for LUNA-AIR and a diagnostic visualisation interface for the patient to view their biometric data.

4. TARA-CONTROL is a wearable device, with integrated sensors, which delivers wireless power into LUNA-AIR and acts as a communications relay between LUNA-AIR and LUNA-APP.

We are creating a cost-effective solution to treat Chronic Migraine that is sustainable and affordable for patients, particularly in resource-constrained settings. Our product vision is fundamentally based on disrupting the continuum of care and creating a more effective solution, accessible to non-surgical physicians.

LUNA-INJECT

LUNA-INJECT - An ergonomic, minimally invasive, injection device that minimises tissue trauma and training required for physicians.

The LUNA-INJECT is currently the only way to inject hermetically sealed smart neurostimulation devices and leads. This innovation enables the transition of procedures from the operating room into the office.

LUNA-AIR

LUNA-AIR is a battery-less implantable device including miniaturised devices for smart wireless power transfer and microchips for smart stimulation and sensing.

TARA-CONTROL

TARA-Control - A wearable device that will communicate with and power the implantable and will also contain biometric sensors. TARA-control has three functions, wireless power transfer, wireless communication and smart sensing.

Wireless Power Transfer: TARA-CONTROL, placed near the neck's base, uses advanced wireless power transfer technologies. This allows Tara-AIR, implanted 1 to 5 cm under the skin.

Wireless Communication: TARA-CONTROL will also act as a centralised communications hub between LUNA-AIR and controller smartphones and tablets and convert the raw sensor data into a more condensed readable form.

TARA-APP

TARA-APP - a mobile app to control the implant, visualise biometric data and notify patients of impending migraine attacks. Explore the TARA - APP
